Reclining Office Chairs

Reclining office chairs are often a necessarily in today’s workplace due to the long hours worked and lack of movement.  Just by adding a simple recline position to a chair can make the work day more tolerable. 

Because people are spending more and more time in a sitting position, more and more work related problems are being reported, like headaches, back aches, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, and even leg pains.

Plus these don’t cost that much more than regular office chairs, with many models starting around $300.  Before buying one of these chairs you should go to a furniture supply store and try one out first.   

Since people are different heights, you need to make sure the back rest is not to high or low for you when the chair is extended, and that the foot rest is also not too for or too close either.

Being a Brookstone product you expect the best.  This chair has a pull out foot rest, full back support, a head rest, and arm rests.  The recline and seat are fully adjustable. 

The seat reclines to 5 different positions, all the way back to a 45 degree angle.  The seat height adjusts from 18 to 22 inches and the seat is 23 inches wide.  The seat back is nice and tall, reach 31 inches tall.  This chair is rated to hold 250 pounds and comes in two colors, black or burgundy. 

Olivia Home and Office Recliner  $1600 

A much more expensive recliner, it has a patented retractable foot rest, and independent controls for the back rest and head rest.  This chair has a very elegant design, and it looks very professional, while at the same time appearing comfortable. 

Summary 

While there are not very many models of reclining office chairs available, the Brookstone model seems to be the dominant one available and it comes at a very good price.  A price that is not that much more than a regular office chair.
